INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT: ONLINE PLATFORMS AND SERVICES

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the use of information systems in project management in organizations in modern conditions. The purpose of the article is to find modern online platforms and services aimed at project management, their characteristics, and the identification of the peculiarities of their functioning. The most popular online platforms and services, which are intended for project management, and which make it possible to set tasks, monitor their execution, allocate resources, etc., have been analyzed and systematized. As an example, five services for project management are chosen: Asana, Trello, Todoist, Jira, Teamwork. The main characteristics of the services were studied: the functional tools required for project management and the cost of use. Asana is a service for managing tasks and projects. It is positioned as a tool for team work on tasks, but it can be used as a personal task manager. The main functions are creating tasks, assigning responsibilities, placing priorities, sending messages, inviting team members to a project in Asana. Trello – Task and project management service. In addition to the desktop version, Trello also has access to smartphones. The service works on the basis of kanban boards. Todoist is a task manager, web service, and software suite for project management and task management. Jira is a project management system. Allows you to organize work using the Scrum methodology, if one universal team works on the project, and Kanban, if several narrow-profile teams work. Teamwork is a service for working on projects. There are cloud programs in Teamwork, including Teamwork, Desk, Spaces, CRM and Chat. The services were compared according to the main characteristics: display of tasks, mobile version, communication with colleagues within the service, cost of the package taking into account the needs of the organization. The most optimal service is determined. Jira has many options for customizing the interface and workspace, automation, integration with useful services, tracking the workflow, time spent working on a task, creating agile reports and ensuring the security of data stored in the service.
