IMPROVING THE QUALIFICATION OF STAFF AS A COMPONENT OF SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT OF ENTERPRISES OF THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Abstract

Modern scientific and practical studies show that there is a discrepancy between the available personnel potential and international standards at the enterprises of the hotel and restaurant industry. Among the main problems that require an immediate solution, one should mention the search for effective personnel management technologies in the context of training highly qualified and motivated specialists. Competence of human resources in the hospitality industry is considered a necessary element of increasing the number of guests and, as a consequence, the profitability of the establishment. Professional and well-trained staff in the field of hospitality allows to meet the needs of guests by offering a wide range of services with high quality service, which increases the level of competitiveness of the institution in a tough competitive environment. The competencies of employees (skills, abilities and knowledge in the field of organization and planning of work, combined with personal qualities related to effective activities), skillfully used and developed by the hotel business are the source of its competitive advantages. In the process of developing the competencies of employees, the following stages of their acquisition and expansion can be distinguished: through education before the beginning of professional activity (schools, universities, internships) and during professional life (education, seminars, trainings). The main direction of the research is modern forms of training and development of staff of hospitality enterprises. The role and importance of improving human resources as one of the modern approaches in the development of a hospitality institution is highlighted. The main forms that can be successfully used to improve the quality of work of employees of the hospitality industry are considered. The article focuses on the main determinant symptoms of the need for training. The list of advantages at carrying out the corresponding educational actions for workers of the industry of hospitality and in particular hotels is considered. The issue of the need to implement funds for the creation of comprehensive training programs for staff training is highlighted.
